How to resolve ‘The quantity to be returned exceeds the maximum authorized’ error message while creating Purchase return in Sage X3

Purchase return is
usually a part of business. In which, items are returned to the supplier if
they had any problems or not according to the requirements of the buyer.

In Sage X3, while developing Purchase Return we might come across an error like The quantity to be returned surpasses the maximum authorized: 0 UN. For fixing this, X3 has a performance to allow this field.

Browse to: Purchasing → Returns → Purchase Returns

message is coming and system is not
allowing to move further. Now, follow below steps to resolve this error:

Step1:

Browse
to: Common Data → Product → Product Categories → Issue Flow tab

Fig1.2: Product Category screenAfter doing all these steps, now navigate to Purchase Return screen and produce new deal and check purchase return is getting developed or not.

Fig1.3: Purchase Return screenAs we can see in the above screen shot, now system is permitting user to develop purchase return without giving any error message.

In this way, we can produce purchase return in Sage X3.

First choose the product category in.
which your item is specified. Let us take an example BMSOL.
Then go to the Issue Flow tab.
Select Receipt Return in motion type column and then set (Status.
A+ Q+ R) in the Authorized status column.
