After years of going to composing workshops and conferences, I was afraid to send my work for publication. I devoured books on writing, immersed myself in the literary neighborhood on Goodreads, and completed a low residency MFA in imaginative writing.

As a cosmetic surgeon, you would not anticipate me to suffer from an absence of confidence, however writing is so intensely personal that I simply could not pull the trigger. I believed the unavoidable rejections would eliminate my creative impulse.

For most of us, just getting a single poem or short story published is a daunting, inaccessible objective.
