One day, several years back, I asked him about his creative process. (Hes a true Creative Badass, and asking minds wanted to understand.).
He still put out the albums. This years album, titled Ordinary Madness, will launch.
Walter: ” Jen, every year when its time to tape-record a new album, I feel like Ive done it currently and those are all the songs I have to compose.”.
He added and paused a minute, ” Then Ill hear my moms voice in my head, like shes right there talking to me: Walter, you stated you wished to be an artist; it was what you trained for and practiced at. It was the only thing you EVER wanted. Get off your a$$ and compose some music, and quit crying about it.”.
She and I exchanged an eye-roll and I stated, “Theres got to be more to it than that.”.
My friend, Walter Trout, is an extremely effective artist. He likes music and carrying out, and he loves communicating with his fans so hes needed to actually work for it during this pandemic. He awes me with his power to sit down and do the work.
Walter smiled at me, a good-hearted comfortable smile that made me feel better about bringing work to our Saturday night of enjoyable. And then he said, “I do not truly understand.”.
