AuthorSHARE Offers Royalties on Sales of Second Hand Books
It is, of course, the reality that authors make no royalties on the sales of 2nd hand books. It is now possible to write royalties for every subsequent sale into the wise agreement with which a book is released. When it comes to the books we love to discover in second hand book stores, the concept has stayed.
Sales figures from getting involved groups and shops will go to ALCS who will distribute up to ₤ 1000 to authors in two pieces each year. The scheme has the support of the Society of Authors and undistributed funds will go into SoAs contingency fund for authors. This appears like an excellent plan, and I am delighted to validate, with thanks to ALLis Margaret Skea, that the contingency fund is open to indie authors who have actually been affected by the pandemic.

Amazon has actually had a busy week. This sits along with existing cases asking whether Amazons dominance of book selling is bad for clients. One of Amazons greatest third celebration seller in the book world is, of course, the aforementioned World of Books Group.
This weeks greatest Amazon news makes a fascinating buddy story. Amazon has simply purchased MGM for $8.45 bn. Its not clear whether that is part of a transfer to diversify. Or whether it marks an early step in a relocate to dominate another market. What it certainly does is use the chance to increase the streaming part of the Amazon Prime offering. Prime is Amazons flagship cash spinner for all type of factors. But the most compelling is that Prime members buy more things from Amazon than non Prime members. Making Prime-led products as tempting as possible matters. Which includes both video and e-books. Whats constantly been slightly unexpected is that Amazon hasnt linked the two more, in the way Wattpad does so well. Maybe acquiring a studio will bring the page to screen pipeline one step more detailed.
