Here in the United States, with COVID case counts spiking, things are feeling particularly hard. The usual Independence Day guidelines do not use this year. There are no celebrations, no fireworks, no parades. Health officials are universal in their message: “The most patriotic thing Americans can do this year is to remain at home.” Everybody does not concur.
