Many of us behind the scenes are dragging. All of us are working hard to keep our spirits up to write another day.
Today we choose to commemorate YOU, our composing family online. We are blessed that you pick to spend time with us each week, every month, every year. We wish to know how you are doing.
Here in the US, with COVID case counts spiking, things are feeling especially hard. The typical Independence Day guidelines do not use this year. There are no celebrations, no fireworks, no parades. Health authorities are universal in their message: “The most patriotic thing Americans can do this year is to remain at home.” Everyone does not agree.
The Oprah quote above resonates especially this year. Weve all had a hard time, and weve all found unanticipated strength in our battles.
This isnt a political post, this is a “how are you doing, really” post. We genuinely would like to know.
Some authors have told me they do basically the same thing they did prior to the pandemic – stay at home and compose. Other writers have informed me their world has altered and they are fighting to make a living. Still more have actually informed me the state of the world has plunged them into anguish.
We hear you. We see you. We absolutely believe in you, and your capability to dig deep to find your story.
But we do wish to know … How are you doing? How are you really doing? Are you peaceful, anxious, coping, having a hard time, composing, blocked, insane, or something else? If you are prepared to share, we would enjoy to understand.
What are you dealing with? And what unforeseen strengths have you discovered?
Big Hugs to YOU, from Your Team at Writers In the Storm
