Some authors have told me they do practically the exact same thing they did prior to the pandemic – stay at home and compose. Other writers have told me their world has changed and they are fighting to make a living. Still more have told me the state of the world has plummeted them into despair.
It is an understatement to say it has actually been a hard numerous months all over the world. In the face of this pandemic, a number of our readers here at WITS are dragging. A lot of us behind the scenes are dragging. All of us are striving to keep our spirits up to write another day.
However this isnt a political post, this is a “how are you doing, really” post. We truly wish to know.
Here in the United States, with COVID case counts spiking, things are feeling particularly hard. The normal Independence Day rules do not apply this year. There are no celebrations, no fireworks, no parades. Health officials are universal in their message: “The most patriotic thing Americans can do this year is to remain at home.” Everyone does not agree.
Today we select to celebrate YOU, our composing family online. We are blessed that you select to spend time with us every week, on a monthly basis, every year. We would like to know how you are doing.
We hear you. We see you. We definitely believe in you, and your ability to dig deep to discover your story.
The Oprah quote above resonates especially this year. Weve all had a hard time, and weve all discovered unanticipated strength in our battles.
However we do wish to know … How are you doing? How are you truly doing? Are you tranquil, anxious, coping, having a hard time, writing, blocked, crazy, or something else? If you are ready to share, we would enjoy to know.
