Some authors have actually told me they do basically the same thing they did prior to the pandemic – stay at home and write. Other writers have actually told me their world has actually changed and they are fighting to make a living. Still more have actually told me the state of the world has plunged them into misery.
Today we choose to celebrate YOU, our composing household online. We are blessed that you select to hang around with us weekly, monthly, every year. We want to know how you are doing.
This isnt a political post, this is a “how are you doing, truly” post. We truly desire to understand.
Here in the United States, with COVID case counts spiking, things are feeling particularly hard. The typical Independence Day rules do not apply this year. There are no parties, no fireworks, no parades. Health authorities are universal in their message: “The most patriotic thing Americans can do this year is to remain at house.” Everyone does not concur.
It is an understatement to say it has actually been a hard several months all over the world. In the face of this pandemic, a lot of our readers here at WITS are dragging. Much of us behind the scenes are dragging. Everyone are working hard to keep our spirits up to write another day.
The Oprah quote above resonates particularly this year. Weve all struggled, and weve all discovered unanticipated strength in our struggles.
We hear you. We see you. We definitely believe in you, and your capability to dig deep to discover your story.
But we do desire to know … How are you doing? How are you actually doing? Are you tranquil, concerned, coping, having a hard time, writing, obstructed, crazy, or something else? If you are ready to share, we would love to know.
What are you dealing with? And what unexpected strengths have you found?
Big Hugs to YOU, from Your Team at Writers In the Storm
